“TO SUCCESS IN ANY BUSINESS"

Psalm 81

Psalm of Asaph. 1 God became in the assembly of the gods; Judgment spoke among the gods:
2 How long will you judge unrighteously and show favoritism to the wicked?
3 Give judgment to the poor and the orphan; do justice to the oppressed and the poor;
4 deliver the poor and needy; pluck it out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They do not know, they do not understand, they walk in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.
6 I said, You are gods, and all of you are sons of the Most High;
7 but you will die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth, for you will inherit all nations.

Psalm 29

1 Psalm of David; song when updating the house.
2 I will exalt you, O Lord, because you lifted me up and did not let my enemies triumph over me.
3 Lord, my God! I called to You and You healed me.
4 Lord! You brought my soul out of hell and revived me so that I would not descend into the grave.
5 Sing to the Lord, you saints, praise the remembrance of his holiness,
6 for his anger is for a moment, his favor is for a lifetime: weeping dwells in the evening, but joy in the morning.
7 And I said in my prosperity, I will never be shaken.
8 According to Thy good pleasure, O Lord, Thou hast strengthened my mountain; but You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
9 Then to Thee, O Lord, I called, and implored [my] Lord:
10 “What good is my blood when I go down to the grave? Will the dust praise You? will he proclaim your truth?
11 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy on me; God! be my helper."
12 And you turned my mourning into rejoicing, took off my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
13 let my soul praise you and be not silent. Oh my God! I will praise You forever.

Psalm 54

1 Head of the choir. On string instruments. David's teaching.
2 Hear my prayer, O God, and hide not from my prayer;
3 listen to me and hear me; I groan in my grief, and I am troubled
4 by the voice of the enemy, by the oppression of the wicked, for they bring iniquity upon me, and in anger they fight against me.
5 My heart trembles within me, and mortal horrors attacked me;
6 Fear and trembling came upon me, and terror seized me.
7 And I said, “Who would give me wings like a dove? I would fly away and calm down;
8 I would have gone far, and remained in the wilderness;
9 I would hasten to hide myself from the whirlwind, from the storm.”
10 Disturb, O Lord, and divide their tongues, for I see violence and strife in the city;
11 day and night they walk around on its walls; evil deeds and disaster in the midst of it;
12 in the midst of his destruction; deceit and deceit do not descend from its streets:
13 for it is not the enemy who reviles me, – this I would endure; it is not my hater who magnifies himself over me – I would hide from him;
14 but you, who were like me to me, my friend and my lover,
15 with whom we shared sincere conversations and went together to the house of God.
16 May death come upon them; May they go down alive into hell, for wickedness is in their dwellings, in their midst.
17 But I will call upon God, and the Lord will save me.
18 In the evening, and in the morning, and at noon, I will plead and cry, and he will hear my voice,
19 he will deliver my soul in peace from those who rise up against me, for I have many of them;
20 God will hear, and He who lives of eternity will humble them, because there is no change in them; they do not fear God,
21 they have stretched out their hands against those who are with them in peace, they have broken their covenant;
22 Their lips are softer than butter, but there is enmity in their hearts; their words are softer than oil, but they are drawn swords.
23 Cast your cares on the Lord, and He will sustain you. He will never let the righteous waver.
24 You, O God, will bring them down into the pit of destruction; bloodthirsty and treacherous will not live up to half their days. And I trust in You, [Lord,]

Psalm 60

1 Head of the choir. On a string instrument. Psalm of David.
2 Hear, O God, my cry; give heed to my prayer!
3 From the end of the earth I cry to Thee in the despondency of my heart; Build me up on a rock that is beyond my reach,
4 for You are my refuge, You are a strong defense against the enemy.
5 May I live forever in Your dwelling place and rest under the shelter of Your wings,
6 for You, O God, have heard my vows and have given me an inheritance of those who fear Your name.
7 Add days to the days of the king, his years are extended to generation and generation,
8 so that he abides forever before God; command mercy and truth to guard him.
9 And I will sing to your name forever, fulfilling my vows every day.

“TO MAKE THINGS GO SMOOTHLY”

Psalm 3

1 Psalm of David when he fled from Absalom his son.
2 Lord! How my enemies have multiplied! Many rise up against me
3 many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in God.”
4 But you, O Lord, are my shield, my glory, and you lift up my head.
5 With my voice I cry to the Lord, and He hears me from His holy mountain.
6 I lie down, sleep and get up, for the Lord protects me.
7 I will not be afraid of those people who have taken up arms against me on all sides.
8 Arise, Lord! save me, my God! for You strike in the cheeks of all my enemies; you break the teeth of the wicked.
9 Salvation is from the Lord. Your blessing is upon your people.

Psalm 57

1 Head of the choir. Don't lose. Scripture of David.
2 Do you truly speak the truth, O judges, and judge justly, O sons of men?
3 You make up iniquity in your heart; you weigh the iniquity of your hands on the earth.
4 From the very birth the wicked have departed; from the womb they go astray, speaking lies.
5 Their poison is like the poison of a snake, like a deaf asp who plugs his ears
6 and does not hear the voice of the caster, the most skillful in spells.
7 God! crush their teeth in their mouth; break, Lord, the jaws of lions!
8 Let them disappear like flowing water; when the arrows are strained, let them be as broken.
9 May they disappear like a blossoming snail; let them not see the sun like a miscarriage of a woman.
10 Before your cauldrons feel the burning thorns, and let the fresh and charred blow the whirlwind.
11 The righteous will rejoice when he sees vengeance; wash their feet in the blood of the wicked.
12 And the man will say: {Surely there is fruit for the righteous! so there is a God who judges on earth!}

Psalm 103

[Psalm of David about the creation of the world.] 1 Bless the Lord, my soul! Oh my God! You are wonderfully great, You are clothed with glory and majesty;
2 You clothe yourself with light like a garment; you spread out the heavens like a tent;
3 Thou buildest Thy chambers above the waters, Thou makest the clouds Thy chariot, Thou dost ride on the wings of the wind.
4 Thou dost make Thy angels spirits, Thy servants, a blazing fire.
5 You have set the earth on a firm foundation; it will not shake forever and ever.
6 Thou hast covered it with the deep as with a garment; waters stand on the mountains.
7 From your rebuke they flee, from the voice of your thunder they quickly leave;
8 They go up the mountains, they go down into the valleys, to the place that You appointed for them.
9 You have set a limit that they will not cross, nor will they return to cover the earth.
10 You have sent springs into the valleys: between the mountains flow [water],
11 water all the animals of the field; wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 The birds of the air dwell among them, from among the branches they utter a voice.
13 You water the mountains from Your heights; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 You bring forth grass for the livestock, and grass for the benefit of man, to make food from the ground,
15 and wine that makes the heart of man glad, and oil that makes his face shine, and bread that strengthens the heart of man.
16 The trees of the Lord are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he has planted;
17 Birds nest on them: firs are the home of the stork,
18 high mountains are the chamois; stone cliffs – a refuge for hares.
19 He made the moon to indicate the times, the sun knows its west.
20 You spread darkness, and there is night: during it all the animals of the forest roam;
21 The lions roar for prey and ask God for their food.
22 The sun rises, [and] they gather and lie down in their lairs;
23 A man goes out to his work and to his work until evening.
24 How many are thy works, O Lord! You have done everything in wisdom; the earth is full of your works.
25 It is a great and spacious sea;
26 There are ships sailing there, there is this leviathan that you created to play in it.
27 They all expect you to give them their food in due time.
28 You give them, they receive; you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things;
29 You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your spirit, they are created, and You renew the face of the earth.
31 Glory be to the Lord forever; May the Lord rejoice in His works!
32 Looks at the earth, and it shakes; touches the mountains, and smoke.
33 I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing to my God as long as I am.
34 May my song be acceptable to him; I will rejoice in the Lord.
35 Let sinners perish from the earth, and the lawless no more. Bless the Lord, my soul! Alleluia!

Psalm 144

Praise David.
1 I will exalt you, my God, my King, and bless your name forever and ever.
2 All day long I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord and praiseworthy, and his majesty is unsearchable.
4 Generation to generation will praise your works and proclaim your might.
5 But I will meditate on the high glory of Your majesty and on Your wondrous works.
6 They will speak of the power of your terrible works, and I will proclaim your majesty.
7 They will proclaim the memory of your great goodness and sing of your righteousness.
8 Generous and merciful is the Lord, long-suffering and merciful.
9 The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are in all His works.
10 May all your works praise you, O Lord, and may your saints bless you;
11 let them proclaim the glory of thy kingdom, and let them speak of thy might,
12 to make known to the sons of men of thy might and of the glorious majesty of thy kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is the kingdom of all ages, and your dominion is throughout all generations. [The Lord is faithful in all His words, and holy in all His works.]
14 The Lord upholds all who fall, and raises up all those who are cast down.
15 The eyes of all put their trust in you, and you give them their food in due time;
16 You open your hand and satisfy everything that lives according to your good pleasure.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and good in all his works.
18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him; He hears their cry and saves them.
20 The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but destroys all the wicked.
21 My mouth shall utter the praise of the Lord, and let all flesh bless his holy name forever and ever.

“AT THE BEGINNING OF ANY BUSINESS” TO SUCCESS LUCK

Psalm 38

1 To the head of the choir, Idifum. Psalm of David.
2 I said, I will watch my ways, lest I sin with my tongue; I will bridle my mouth as long as the wicked is before me.
3 I was mute and mute, and silent even about good things; and my sorrow moved.
4 My heart is kindled within me; a fire was kindled in my thoughts; I began to speak with my tongue:
5 Tell me, O Lord, my end, and the number of my days, what it is, that I may know what my age is.
6 Behold, you have given me days as spans, and my age as nothing before you. Truly, every living person is utter vanity.
7 Verily, a man walks like a ghost; in vain he fusses, collects and does not know who will get what.
8 And now what can I expect, Lord? my hope is in you.
9 Deliver me from all my iniquities; do not hand me over to the reproach of a fool.
10 I have become mute, I do not open my mouth; because You did it.
11 Turn your blows away from me; I disappear from Your smiting hand.
12 If you punish a person for crimes with reproofs, then his beauty will crumble like a moth. So, every man is vain!
13 Hear, O Lord, my prayer, and give heed to my cry; do not be silent to my tears, for I am a stranger with you and a stranger, like all my fathers.
14 Depart from me, that I may refresh myself, before I depart and be gone.

Psalm 1

Psalm of David.
1 Blessed is the man who does not go to the council of the wicked, and does not stand in the way of sinners, and does not sit in the assembly of corrupters,
2 but his will is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night!
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which bears its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither; and in everything he does, he will succeed.
4 Not so, the wicked, [not so]: but they are like dust blown up by the wind [from the face of the earth].
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 16

Prayer of David. 1 Hear, O Lord, my righteousness, heed my cry, accept the supplication from the lips of the undeceitful.
2 May judgment come to me from your presence; May Your eyes look to righteousness.
3 You tried my heart, you visited me at night, you tried me and found nothing; my mouth does not depart from my thoughts.
4 In the works of men, according to the word of your mouth, I guarded myself from the ways of the oppressor.
5 Set my steps in your ways, so that my steps do not waver.
6 I call to you, for you will hear me, O God; incline your ear to me, hear my words.
7 Reveal Thy wondrous mercy, Savior of those who trust [in Thee] from those who oppose Thy right hand.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 from the face of the wicked who attack me, from the enemies of my soul who surround me:
10 they are shut up in their fatness, they speak haughtily with their mouth.
11 At every step we take, they now surround us; they fixed their eyes to bring me down to the ground;
12 they are like a lion that is hungry for prey, like a kimon that sits in hidden places.
13 Arise, O Lord, warn them, bring them down. Deliver my soul from the wicked by Your sword,
14 from the people by Your hand, O Lord, from the people of the world, whose lot is in this life, whose wombs You fill from Your treasures; their sons are well-fed and will leave the remnant to their children.
15 But in truth I will look upon your face; awakening, I will be satisfied with your image.

Psalm 150

Alleluia.
1 Praise God in His holiness; praise Him in the firmament of His might.
2 Praise him according to his might, praise him according to the multitude of his majesty.
3 Praise him with the sound of the trumpet; praise him with the psalter and the harp.
4 Praise Him with timbrels and choirs; praise Him with strings and organ.
5 Praise Him with resounding cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord! Alleluia.

“TO SKILL WITH YOUR WORK”

Psalm 5

1 Head of the choir. On wind instruments. Psalm of David.
2 Hear, O Lord, my words; understand my thoughts.
3 Hear the voice of my cry, my King and my God! for I am praying to you.
4 Lord! Hear my voice early
; evil will not dwell with you;
6 The wicked will not stand before Your eyes: You hate all those who do iniquity.
7 You will destroy those who speak lies; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and treacherous.
8 But I, according to the multitude of Thy mercy, will enter Thy house; I will worship Thy holy temple in Thy fear.
9 Lord! guide me in Your righteousness for the sake of my enemies; Level Your path before me.
10 For there is no truth in their mouth; their heart is destruction; their throat is an open tomb; they flatter with their tongue.
11 Condemn them, O God, that they may fall from their designs; according to the multitude of their wickedness, reject them, for they have rebelled against you.
12 And all those who trust in You will rejoice, they will rejoice forever, and You will patronize them; and those who love your name will glory in you.
13 For you bless the righteous, O Lord; with good will, as with a shield, you crown him.

Psalm 20

1 Head of the choir. Psalm of David.
2 Lord! The king rejoices in Your strength, and rejoices immeasurably in Your salvation.
3 You gave him what his heart desired, and did not reject the petition of his mouth,
4 for You met him with blessings of goodness, and placed on his head a crown of pure gold.
5 He asked You for life; You gave him long life for a century and a century.
6 Great is his glory in thy salvation; You have placed upon him honor and majesty.
7 Thou hast blessed him forever, made him glad with the joy of Thy countenance
;
9 Your hand will find all your enemies, your right hand will find [all] those who hate you.
10 In the time of your wrath you will make them like a fiery furnace; in his wrath the Lord will destroy them, and fire will consume them.
11 You will destroy their fruit from the earth and their seed from among the sons of men,
12 for they did evil against you, they made plans, but could not

.
13 You will make them a target; from your bows you will shoot arrows at their faces.
14 Be lifted up, O Lord, by your strength: we will sing and praise your might.

Psalm 11

1 Head of the choir. On an eight-string. Psalm of David.
2 Save [me], O Lord, for the righteous is no more, for there are no faithful among the sons of men.
3 Every one speaks a lie to his neighbor; flattering lips, they speak from a feigned heart.
4 The Lord will destroy all flattering lips, the eloquent tongue,
5 those who say, “We will overcome with our tongue, our mouth will be with us; who is our master?
6 For the suffering of the poor and the sighing of the poor, I will now arise, says the Lord, I will set up in safety whoever they want to catch.
7 The words of the Lord are pure words, silver refined from earth in a furnace, refined seven times.
8 You, Lord, will keep them; you will keep them from this generation forever.
9 Everywhere go the wicked, when the worthless of the sons of men have exalted themselves.

Psalm 77

Asaph's teaching. 1 Listen, my people, to my law; incline your ear to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable, and I will pronounce divinations of old.
3 What we heard and learned, and our fathers told us,
4 we will not hide from their children, proclaiming to the generation to come the glory of the Lord, and his power, and his wonders, which he did.
5 He decreed a rule in Jacob, and laid down a law in Israel, which commanded our fathers to proclaim to their children,
6 that he might know the coming generation, the children who would be born, and that they should proclaim to their children in due time,
7 to put their hope in God and not forget the works of God, and keep his commandments,
8 and not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a troubled heart and unfaithful to God in their spirit.
9 The sons of Ephraim, armed, archery, turned back in the day of battle:
10 they kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law;
11 They forgot his deeds and the wonders that he showed them.
12 He did wonders before the eyes of their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan:
13 He parted the sea, and led them through it, and made the waters a wall;
14 And by day he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire;
15 he cut open a stone in the wilderness and gave them drink, as from a great abyss;
16 He brought streams out of the rock, and the waters flowed like rivers.
17 But they continued to sin against him and irritate the Most High in the wilderness:
18 they tempted God in their heart, demanding food according to their soul,
19 and spoke against God and said, “Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?”
20 Behold, he struck the stone, and waters flowed, and streams flowed. “Can He give bread, can He prepare meat for His people?”
21 The Lord heard and was kindled with anger, and fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger was moved against Israel
22 because they did not believe in God and did not hope for His salvation.
23 He commanded the clouds from above and opened the doors of heaven,
24 and rained down on them manna for food, and gave them bread from heaven.
25 Man ate the bread of the angels; He sent them food until they were full.
26 He stirred up an east wind in the sky and brought the south wind with his power
27 and like dust he rained on them meat and like the sand of the sea, feathered birds:
28 cast them down in the midst of their camp, near their dwellings,
29 and they ate and were filled; and gave them what they desired.
30 But their desire was not yet gone, food was still in their mouth,
31 the wrath of God came upon them, and killed their fat ones, and brought down the young men of Israel.
32 In spite of all this, they continued to sin and did not believe in His miracles.
33 And he destroyed their days in vanity, and their years in confusion.
34 When He killed them, they sought Him and turned, and from early morning they ran to God,
35 and remembered that God is their refuge, and God the Most High is their Deliverer,
36 and flattered Him with their mouth and with their tongue they lied before Him;
37 but their heart was not right with him, and they were not faithful to his covenant.
38 But He, the Merciful, forgave sin and did not destroy them, repeatedly turned away His anger and did not stir up all His wrath:
39 He remembered that they are flesh, a breath that goes away and does not return.
40 How many times have they angered him in the wilderness and angered him in a desert country!
41 And again they tempted God and offended the Holy One of Israel,
42 they did not remember His hand, the day when He delivered them from oppression,
43 when He did His signs in Egypt and His wonders in the field of Zoan;
44 And he turned their rivers and their streams into blood, so that they could not drink;
45 sent insects upon them to sting them, and frogs to destroy them;
46 gave their growth of the ground to the caterpillar, and their labor to the locust;
47 They crushed their vines with hail, and their sycamores with ice;
48 They delivered their livestock to hail, and their flocks to lightning;
49 sent upon them the flame of his anger, and indignation, and fury, and disaster, an embassy of evil angels;
50 He leveled the path of his anger, did not guard their souls from death, and gave their cattle over to pestilence;
51 struck down every firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of power in the tents of Ham;
52 And he led his people like sheep, and led them like a flock through the wilderness;
53 He led them safely, and they were not afraid, but the sea covered their enemies;
54 And he brought them into his holy region, to this mountain, which his right hand had won;
55 He drove out the nations from before their presence, and divided their land for their inheritance, and he made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.
56 But they still tempted and grieved the Most High God, and kept not his statutes;
57 Retreated and betrayed, like their fathers, turned back like an unfaithful bow;
58 They grieved him with their heights, and with their idols aroused his jealousy.
59 God heard and was inflamed with anger and greatly indignant with Israel;
60 He abandoned the dwelling in Shiloh, the tabernacle in which He dwelt among men;
61 And he gave his strength into captivity and his glory into the hands of the enemy,
62 and he delivered his people to the sword and was angry with his inheritance.
63 His young men were consumed by fire, and marriage songs were not sung to his maidens;
64 His priests fell by the sword, and his widows did not weep.
65 But, as if from a dream, the Lord arose, as if a giant defeated by wine,
66 and struck his enemies in the rear, betrayed them to eternal shame;
67 And he rejected the tent of Joseph, and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68 but chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which he loved.
69 And he built his sanctuary like heaven, and established it like earth forever,
70 and chose David his servant, and took him from the sheepfolds
71 and from the milkers he brought him to feed his people, Jacob, and his inheritance, Israel.
72 And he shepherded them in the purity of his heart, and guided them with wise hands.

“GOOD LUCK IN BUSINESS”

Psalm 72

Psalm of Asaph. 1 How good God is to Israel, to the pure in heart!
2 But I – my feet almost staggered, my feet almost slipped –
3 I envied the fools, seeing the prosperity of the wicked,
4 for they have no suffering until their death, and their strength is strong;
5 in the work of man they are not, and with other people they are not subjected to blows.
6 Therefore pride is like a necklace around them, and boldness is like a garment, clothing them;
7 their eyes rolled out from fat, thoughts wander in the heart;
8 they mock at everything, viciously spread slander, speak down;
9 lift up their mouth to heaven, and their tongue roams the earth.
10 Wherefore his people turn to the same place, and drink water in a full cup,
11 and say, “How will God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?”
12 And behold, these wicked men prosper in this age, multiplying riches.
13 [And I said:] Was it not in vain that I cleansed my heart and washed my hands in innocence,
14 and exposed myself to wounds every day and reproofs every morning?
15 But if I said, “I will reason thus,” then I would be guilty before the generation of your sons.
16 And I thought how to understand this, but it was difficult in my eyes,
17 until I entered into the sanctuary of God and understood their end.
18 Yes! You set them on slippery paths and cast them into the abyss.
19 How unexpectedly they came to ruin, disappeared, perished from horrors!
20 As a dream upon awakening, so you, O Lord, awakening them, destroy their dreams.
21 When my heart was seething, and my inward part was tormented,
22 then I was ignorant and did not understand; like cattle I was before you.
23 But I am always with you: you hold my right hand;
24 You guide me with Your counsel, and then you will receive me into glory.
25 Who is in heaven for me? and with you I want nothing on earth.
26 My flesh fails, and my heart fails: God is the rock of my heart, and my part forever.
27 For, behold, those who separate themselves from Thee perish; You destroy everyone who turns away from You.
28 But it is good for me to draw near to God! I have placed my trust in the Lord God, that I may proclaim all thy works [in the gates of the daughter of Zion].

Psalm 109

Psalm of David. 1 The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.
2 The scepter of thy strength the Lord will send from Zion: rule among thy enemies.
3 On the day of your power your people are ready in the splendor of the sanctuary; from the womb before the morning star, your birth is like dew.
4 The Lord has sworn and will not repent: You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord is at your right hand. He in the day of his wrath will smite the kings;
6 He will execute judgment on the nations, fill the earth with corpses, crush the head in the vast land.
7 From the stream on the way he will drink, and therefore he will lift up his head.

Psalm 129

Ascension song.
1 From deep within I cry to Thee, O Lord.
2 Lord! hear my voice. May Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If You, O Lord, notice iniquity, Lord! who will stand?
4 But forgiveness is with you, so that they will revere you.
5 I hope in the Lord, my soul hopes; I trust in His word.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen in the morning, more than the watchmen in the morning.
7 Let Israel trust in the Lord, for the Lord has mercy and much deliverance with him,
8 and he will deliver Israel from all their iniquities.

Psalm 18

1 Head of the choir. Psalm of David.
2 The heavens proclaim the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims the work of his hands.
3 Day conveys speech to day, and night reveals knowledge to night.
4 There is no tongue, and no language, where their voice is not heard.
5 Their sound goes through all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. He made a dwelling place for the sun in them,
6 and it comes out like a bridegroom from his bridal chamber, rejoices like a giant to run through the race:
7 from the end of the heavens he comes, and his procession to the end of them, and nothing is hidden from his warmth.
8 The law of the Lord is perfect; it strengthens the soul; The revelation of the Lord is true, making the simple wise.
9 The commandments of the Lord are righteous, gladdening the heart; the commandment of the Lord is bright, enlightening the eyes.
10 The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The judgments of the Lord are true, all are righteous;
11 they are more desirable than gold, and even a lot of pure gold, sweeter than honey and drops of honeycomb;
12 and your servant is guarded by them, in their observance is a great reward.
13 Who will see his errors? Cleanse me from my secrets
14 and keep your servant from the deliberate ones, so that they do not dominate me. Then I will be blameless and pure from great corruption.
15 May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be pleasing before Thee, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer!

“TO YOUR WORK TO PROSPERATE”

Psalm 14

Psalm of David. 1 Lord! Who can dwell in Your dwelling? Who can dwell on Your holy mountain?
2 He who walks upright and does what is right, and speaks the truth in his heart;
3 he who does not slander with his tongue, does not do evil to his sincere, and does not accept reproach against his neighbor4
4 he, in whose eyes the reprobate is despised, but who praises those who fear the Lord; who swears, even to an evil one, and does not change;
5 who does not lend his money at interest, and does not accept gifts against the innocent. He who does this will never be shaken.

Psalm 93

[Psalm of David on the fourth day of the week.] 1 God of vengeance, Lord, God of vengeance, reveal Yourself!
2 Arise, Judge of the earth, repay the proud.
3 How long, O Lord, will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?
4 They spew bold words; all those who do iniquity are magnified;
5 They trample down Your people, O Lord; they oppress Your inheritance;
6 They kill the widow and the stranger, and they kill the orphans
7 and they say, “The Lord will not see, and the God of Jacob will not know.”
8 Understand, senseless people! when will you be smart, ignoramuses?
9 He who planted an ear, will he not hear? and he who formed the eye will not see?
10 He who admonishes the nations, will he not reprove, He who teaches man understanding?
11 The Lord knows the thoughts of men that they are vain.
12 Blessed is the man whom You admonish, O Lord, and instruct with Your law,
13 to give him rest in days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked!
14 For the Lord will not turn away his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 For judgment will return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? who will stand for me against those who do iniquity?
17 If the Lord had not been my helper, my soul would soon have settled in the land of silence.
18 When I said, "My foot is tottering," Your mercy, O Lord, sustained me.
19 When my sorrows increase in my heart, your comforts delight my soul.
20 Will the seat of the destroyers come near you, plotting violence contrary to the law?
21 The crowd rush to the soul of the righteous and condemn the blood of the innocent.
22 But the Lord is my defense, and my God is the rock of my refuge,
23 and he will turn their iniquity upon them, and destroy them by their wickedness; the Lord our God will destroy them.

Psalm 27

Psalm of David.
1 To you, O Lord, I call: my stronghold! Be not silent to me, lest in Your silence I become like those who go down into the grave.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I call to Thee, when I lift up my hands to Thy holy temple.
3 Destroy me not with the wicked and those who do iniquity, who speak of peace with their neighbors, but have evil in their hearts.
4 Repay them according to their deeds, according to their evil deeds; repay them according to the works of their hands, give them what they deserve.
5 Because they are heedless of the works of the Lord and the work of his hands, he will destroy them and not build them up.
6 Blessed be the Lord, for He has heard the voice of my prayers.
7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and he helped me, and my heart rejoiced; and I will glorify him with my song.
8 The Lord is the strength of his people and the saving protection of his anointed.
9 Save your people and bless your inheritance; shepherd them and raise them up forever!

Psalm 131

Ascension song. 1 Remember, Lord, David and all his contrition:
2 how he swore to the Lord, made a vow to the mighty Jacob:
3 “I will not enter the tent of my house, I will not ascend to my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, and to my eyelids slumber,
5 until I find a place for the Lord, a dwelling place for the mighty Jacob.
6 Behold, we heard of him in Ephrath; we found him in the fields of Jarim.
7 Let us go to his dwelling place; let us bow down at his footstool.
8 Stand, O Lord, in the place of thy rest; thou art the ark of thy might.
9 Your priests will be clothed with righteousness, and your saints will rejoice.
10 For the sake of your servant David, do not turn away the face of your anointed.
11 The Lord swore to David the truth, and he will not deny it: “I will plant the fruit of your womb on your throne.
12 If your sons keep my covenant and my testimonies, which I will teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne forever.”
13 For the Lord has chosen Zion, he has desired [it] for his habitation.
14 “This is my rest forever: here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
15 I will bless his food, I will satisfy his poor with bread;
16 I will clothe his priests with salvation, and his saints will rejoice with joy.
17 There I will raise the horn of David; I will set up a lamp for my anointed.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, and his crown will shine on him.”
